CULTURAL ORIENTATION

Melanesian Institute conduct this course annually. And it is focused at expatriate church workers and other volunteer organisation expatriates working in the country to help them with the  better understanding and integration of the many new experiences which result from cross-cultural endeavours, with reference to cultural values, customs and religious beliefs of the people they have worked or will be working with.

Why do MI offer this course?

To introduce expatriates who come to work in Melanesia, was the primary and first service of the Melanesian Institute. It was the initial reason why it was set up in 970 but since then has expanded to offer these courses as are they needed to others. These courses help towards a better understanding of one's own cultures and a better integration of new experiences which result from cross-cultural endeavours.
